These images tell the story of some of the kindest souls I’ve been honored to work with. I met Gabriela & Yunelson for the first time on this chilly evening, in the middle of the never ending pandemic that changed all of our worlds. Gabriela was carrying their second, and they wanted to document this season of life before they became a family of four and their lives were ever different in the best ways.

It’s always an honor to document pivoting life moments like this for couples. My favorite way to photograph families, and even a maternity session like this, is to let the scenes play out naturally. The real, the candid, and unposed moments of a family in their element are the photos that stick with us, because they are real. You get to look back on actual moments and genuine interactions with the people you love most in this world. So, that’s exactly what we did. After playing in the brush at golden hour, we took a walk up the hill to keep up with the sunlight which reflected off the beads of her dress.

By the end of the night, the sun had gone down, the little one was tired, but it was exactly perfect. Their family was the epitome of peace, in the fiercest way.
