A snowmobile trailer. A backyard ceremony. Stunning bridals. An epic party. This wedding inspired all of my backyard wedding dreams, and it totally has my heart.
I’ve been wanting to post this blog for so long but could not find the right words to describe how epic this day was. The groom and his groomsmen got ready in their snowmobile trailer which was probably the coolest getting ready location I’ve ever photographed, and my sweet bride and her bridesmaids shared their snacks with me while I snapped some photos inside the house. Katrina is beautiful, inside and out and seeing her dreams come to life and being trusted to document that was such an honor. By the end of the night, the guests changed from dresses and suits back into jeans and hoodies to finish strong with white claws & a live band.
This was actually my third time photographing Katrina, so at this point we were already really good friends. I genuinely felt like I was a part of her crew, and that made my job so easy. Their whole wedding party, their parents, their guests — every one of them treated me like family and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. These are the days that stick with me as a photographer. Some weddings you just don’t ever stop talking about.
Fun fact, I fell so in love with their ceremony benches (see their gorgeous hard work above) that Katrina gave me the blueprint for them and we built them for my own wedding! Building them was such a project, but it was so refreshing to see how beautiful they were in place, lining the aisle I would walk down. Kelsey, from American Stems, was the artist behind all the florals in this wedding, and it was some of the most beautiful work I’ve ever seen. From the bouquets lining the aisle, to the arbor, the hand bouquets and boutonnières, she is the most talented. I obviously had to book her for my elopement, too! And I would do it again a thousand times. It took a team to pull this day together, but it only took Katrina and Chris to make it happen.
Katrina + Chris, I love you both so much and will support you forever. Thank you a million times for having me.
